I am passionate about the power of words. I love a well-turned phrase and the impact of a powerful story. It’s that passion that brought me to public relations over 20 years ago and is the core of why I’ve been successful. I’ve built my career telling powerful and compelling stories about telephones, lattes, Mickey Mouse, the paper of record, credit scores, the world’s most well-known software and most recently, repairmen. And I tell a good story. Stories that engage influencers. Stories that change opinions about a company, brand or product. Stories that get written and repeated. Stories that build or renew a reputation.
I love people. I’m an observer who is always trying to understand what makes someone tick -- what motivates them. Gets them to do things they never thought they could. And ultimately, become their best self. That’s come in handy whether I am managing an internal team spread across 17 countries on three continents or PR agencies in London, San Francisco, Bangalore, and Tokyo.
I’m a living, breathing PR Swiss army knife. I’ve probably done it at some point in my career, which means I can do it again or teach someone else to do it. That’s part of what I believe makes me a natural born leader – I’ve been in your shoes and I know how tight and painful they can be sometimes. I’ve earned my cred by always being willing to roll up my sleeves and get things done, right alongside the people I work with and lead. That builds unshakable trust and confidence.
I don’t take myself too seriously. I need to enjoy what I do and feel like I am making a difference. The status quo bores me. I thrive on making those around me better than they were when I met them. And in turn let them make me better. I work hard and laugh harder. I’ve ridden my bike from San Francisco to Los Angeles, handled balloons in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, and if we meet… you’ll never forget me.
